24 June to 6 November 2016
This year’s special exhibition at the Bachhaus Eisenach guides visitors through an exploration of Jewish history in relation to Luther and Bach: from Luther’s
infamous anti-Semitic writings and the issue of anti-Semitism in Bach’s Passions to the rediscovery of Bach’s music among the Jewish bourgeoisie during the Enlightenment and the Romantic period. The exhibition opened on 24 June 2016 and will run until 6 November 2016.

The exhibition began generating controversy shortly after it opened. The Chairman of the Neue Bachgesellschaft, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christfried Brödel, has written a personal statement on the matter (in German). It can be found on his website www.chrbroedel.de.
