… and, together with the 2022 Bach Yearbook, will be sent to our members this week. Inserted among the articles of the current Bach Magazine, our members’ magazine will also provide, in time-honoured fashion, news on our Society’s activities and on its Bach House and J.S. Bach Foundation. It also invites us to our next Bach Festival (the 97th in the history of the New Bach Society) to be held in September 2023 in Eupen and Plon (in the Holstein “Switzerland” region), it provides an early glimpse of our 2024 Bach Festival in Munster, and reminds us of the great jubilee “300 Years of Bach in Leipzig” to be celebrated extensively in Leipzig and elsewhere. You may also read about the interview with the trumpet player Ludwig Guttler who ended his active musical career at the end of 2022, explore the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Festival currently underway in Hamburg, and marvel at the variety of Bach events and festivals held in France. Do you actually know what will happen with the Johann Tobias Krebs organ in the small Thuringian town of Buttstadt? An organ symposium will enlighten us – see page 14.
May you find it pleasant and stimulating reading!
