This year’s volume 102 of the Bach Annals features eight long and five short articles by internationally respected scholars from Germany, England and the United States. Scholarly interest in the fascinating phenomenon of Johann Sebastian Bach appears to be inexhaustible: this year’s topics range from biography,
archival research and the history of Bach’s works to issues of performance practice, aspects of compositional technique and questions on reception history. The study of Bach’s sons and grandchildren has also become a well-established field of research that continues to bear fruit.
The Bach Annals 2016 – a German-language publication – are now available from bookshops (ISBN 978-3-374-04320-0) at a price of €14.80. All members of the Neue Bachgesellschaft will soon receive a free copy of the Bach Annals by post, together with our organisation’s newsletter.
